Reason: Give users a relevant voluntary next step while separating commercial destinations from calculator inputs and adding enough original decision value to avoid a thin affiliate experience.

Changed the primary maintenance recommendation

Affected: Calorie Deficit Calculator, methodology, benchmark documentation.

Change: Activity-adjusted Mifflin-St Jeor is now the primary maintenance estimate when body fat is unavailable. Katch-McArdle is primary when a body-fat value is supplied. The four-model sheet blend remains available as a comparison but no longer determines the recommended target.

Reason: A published 12-profile benchmark showed that weight-only shortcuts created most of a 989 kcal/day average full-method spread. Averaging them equally with detailed equations could move the recommendation away from the better-supported model.

Change: Claims that implied one optimal calorie target were replaced with “recommended starting estimate” or equivalent language.

Reason: A predictive equation plus an activity assumption cannot identify one individually optimal intake. The product should expose uncertainty and promote calibration.

Retired AdSense loading and added transparent Amazon category links

Change: Removed Google AdSense loader code, ad placeholders, account metadata, and ads.txt from the published site. Added a non-commercial measurement-tools guide, affiliate disclosure framework, and three clearly disclosed tagged Amazon category links for optional food-scale, body-scale, and meal-prep equipment.

Reason: The current product focus is original, useful content and clearly separated commerce resources rather than display-ad approval.
